Angelina Jolie said during a chat on Larry King Live that her mother, actress Marcheline Bertrand, 56, is winning her long battle against ovarian cancer.

"She's doing good," Angelina said on December 18. "She's very strong and her spirit remains unbroken." She and her mom enjoyed a spa day at Raffles L'Ermitage hotel on December 16.

RIP James Brown

James Brown, a musical giant and one of the most breathakingly dynamic performers in all of entertainment, died early Christmas morning in Atlanta at the age of 73.

Brown, the self-described "Hardest Working Man in Show Business," was hospitalized with pneumonia at Emory Crawford Long Hospital on Sunday and died around 1:45 AM, according to his agent, Frank Copsidas. A longtime friend, Charles Bobbit, was at his side. Copsidas told the Associated Press, "We really don't know at this point what he died of."

With his unmistakable pompadour, stunningly agile dance moves, raspy vocal style, and almost superhuman on-stage energy, Brown, as much as anyone in the history of live performance, gave audiences their money's worth and much more. His gifts as a songwriter and singer, which helped earn him the title of "The Godfather of Soul," were hugely influential on the genres of funk, disco, and rap as well. His instantly recognizable hits included "I Got You (I Feel Good)," "Papa's Got A Brand New Bag," and "Say It Loud -- I'm Black and I'm Proud."

Brown's personal life, particularly over the last two decades, was beset with allegations of drug and alcohol abuse and domestic trouble. He spent 15 months in a South Carolina prison and 10 months in a work release program after leading police on a half-hour, PCP-fueled chase which ended with the tires of his truck being shot out. Brown recently married his fourth wife, backup singer Tomi Raye Hynie, with whom he had a young son. Brown had five children with his previous wives.

Rapper The Game finds it difficult to contain his anger when on tour, because being on the road is too "claustrophobic" for him.

The Game - real name Jayceon Taylor - admits he sometimes physically assaults member of his entourage as a result.

He tells MTV.com, "Being on the bus is like being in a prison on wheels, man.

"It's nothing like being at home. You could be on here for 24 hours, confined in this little space and you start getting claustrophobic and when I start getting mad I just start pulling people out of their bunk and kicking them in the face and s**t.

"Life on the road, you got to be ready for it, and a lot of people don't know that. They think that being a rapper all you got to do is write a 16 (bar sequence), write a hook and then you in the video - you get the chains, you get the girls.

"But it ain't like that, it's a lot of hard work."

Kelley And Heigl Plan Winter Wedding

Singer Josh Kelley and his fiancee Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl are planning a winter wonderland theme for their upcoming wedding.

Kelley, 26, popped the question to the Grey's Anatomy star, 28, in June with a three-carat pear-shaped diamond engagement ring.

The singer approves of the winter theme, telling American publication saying, "It was Katherine's first idea. Once she started talking about it and what it would look like, I was set."

Heigl adds, "Maybe some horses, sleigh bells. My sister is getting married this coming October (07) so we're doing that one first and planning hers.

Model Says She Had Affair With Keith Urban

An American model says she was having an affair with Keith Urban while he was engaged to Australian actress Nicole Kidman and has spoken of the country star's drug habit.

Amanda Wyatt, a 23-year-old part-time model who met Urban at a bar, said they never used protection during their relationship which began in 2004 and continued until May this year - the month before Urban and Kidman married.

The pair was also seen being intimate in October this year, around the time when Urban checked himself into the Betty Ford rehabilitation clinic to treat his drug addiction.

"I'm sorry if I hurt Nicole but I just want to tell the truth and move on," Ms Wyatt told Britain's The Mail on Sunday.

"I hope that she finds happiness with him but Keith is a deeply troubled man.


"I hope for her sake that he sorts himself out. She deserves better."

Wyatt said she continued to see Urban regularly even after finding out of his burgeoning romance with Kidman in mid-2005.

"I guess I knew he was seeing her but he was also seeing me," Wyatt said.

"He wasn't married so I still held out hope that they were just having some kind of publicity relationship.

"You have to understand, Keith was a star and I was a nobody, but even by his standards Nicole was a superstar."

Wyatt says their sexual relationship lasted long after he began seeing Kidman.

"When we made love he never used protection," Wyatt said.

"He told me that he liked that I didn't pressurise him to get married or have babies.

"I sometimes wonder if he said the same thing to Nicole.

"I never wanted to trap him.

"I tried not to fall in love with him but we were together throughout the whole time he was dating Nicole and engaged to her, right through 2005 and to around May 2006.

"Whenever he was in town we'd see each other two or three times a week.

"We'd drink and party and make love and (were) constantly on drugs."

Wyatt said Urban had been misleading his own family about his substance abuse.

"He drank constantly - his favourite was Crown Royal Reserve whisky - and he did drugs. Ecstasy, cocaine, pot - you name it," Wyatt said.

"He told me he'd been in rehab for cocaine and when his mother was there from Australia she was very protective of him. She kept telling me it was okay for him to drink but begged me not to let him do cocaine again. I didn't dare tell her the truth - that he was still doing it.

"Looking back, I rarely saw him sober. He'd work during the day but the bourbon would be flowing and, at night, he'd take ecstasy and coke. We partied constantly."

The Killers And Carmen To Ring In The New Year At Studio Party

The Killers and Carmen Electra will be turning Hollywood's Paramount Studios into New York's Times Square on New Year's Eve to recreate the Big Apple's famous ball-drop ceremony.

Electra will host the festivities on the Los Angeles lot at the famed studios, while rockers The Killers will headline the musical part of the evening, playing into 2007.

Event spokesman Chris Davison says, "We'll have a mirror ball drop and fireworks so it'll be like the big east coast New Year's Eve party on the west coast."

Actress Cameron Diaz is hoping for a Christmas haul of practical presents under the tree this year - but has told her family to take her name off their gift lists.

The Charlie's Angels star insists she's already got everything she needs, but any presents she does receive have to be functional.

Britney Spears Second Publicist Leaves Her

Pop star Britney Spears is dealing with the departure of yet another publicist in the span of only three months.

Spears has been without a personal publicist since October, after parting ways with Leslie Sloane Zelnick.

In the interim, Sonia Muckle, a publicist at Spears' label Jive Records, has been handling her less-than-favourable recent press coverage.

Now Muckle has had enough and is moving on and leaving Jive to start her own marketing and promotions company.

Muckle insists her departure has nothing to do with the pop star's recent antics, which include spending numerous nights on the town with Paris Hilton and being photographed without underwear.

She tells Radar Online, "I left of my own accord. This has been in the works for several months."

The Toxic singer is heading back into the studio to record her new album in January and Jive will continue to handle her publicity for the time being.

Halle Berry has set her sights on a music career. The Oscar-winning actress, who has confirmed she has finished working on her self-titled debut album 'Halle', wants to be admired for more than her acting talents.

She told Ebony magazine: "I've always loved to sing and this album will show people that I can do more than act."

The album was originally due to be released on January 9, but her hectic filming schedule has pushed the date back to February 6.

Christina Ricci's Fur U-turn: She'll never Wear Fur Again!

Shanna Moakler Speaks Out About Miss USA

"Dancing With the Stars" beauty Shanna Moakler, arguably one of the most famous women to wear the Miss USA crown, exclusively tells TMZ, "I don't think a lot of women are prepared when they take the title," and that may be the cause of Tara Conner's trouble with the title.

Moakler, who was crowned Miss USA in 1995 after Chelsi Smith became Miss Universe, knows first hand the difficulties of being a pageant winner. Moakler held the title the year before Donald Trump purchased the pageant, but says the strict rules were the same. "I lived with a 60-year-old chaperone, and drinking, swearing and smoking were absolutely forbidden -- even in the house." Moakler added that she would have to check-in with her chaperone and leave a note whenever she left the apartment.

As for the besieged Miss USA Tara Conner's troubles, Moakler says her heart goes out to her, saying, "The situation is really sad." Michael Jackson Postponed Christmas Event in Tokyo

Pop singer Michael Jackson has postponed a Tokyo Christmas event in which those paying the top price of 400,000 yen ($3,900 Cdn) could meet him. A notice posted Sunday on the website for the Dec. 19 "Premium V.I.P. Party" said the event will be pushed to March 8 instead to allow the 48-year-old entertainer to add another date to his Tokyo schedule to meet his fans. The party, for 1,600 fans, would have included a band, gospel singers and dancers.


Jackson was not going to perform; rather he would just appear at the party to meet with an estimated 300 platinum ticket holders who had paid the highest price to have a picture taken with the star.

The notice said more platinum tickets will be offered and an extra day has been added. Fans with tickets to the Dec. 19 event will have priority preference. They can also get a full refund.

"Fan Appreciation Day" will be held the next day with tickets costing 15,000 yen ($147 Cdn). Fans will be treated to a show of dancers performing to Jackson's hit songs while the reclusive star watches from a special area.

"Tokyo is such a wonderful place, and I look forward to speaking to my friends and fans at both events. My fans have been so loving and supportive of me," Jackson said in a statement posted on the website, supported by Positive Productions.

Jackson had his first public appearance since he was acquitted of child molestation charges in June 2005 in late November at the World Music Awards in London, England.

The World Music Awards audience was promised a performance from his wildly successful 1982 Thriller album but all it got was a few lines of We Are the World.

Beyonce Knowles presented Jackson with the Diamond Award, given to artists who have sold more than 100 million albums worldwide.

Christina Aguilera Furious After Cavalli Made Her Wear Fur

Anti-fur advocate Christina Aguilera is furious with designer Roberto Cavalli, after he tricked her into wearing real fur onstage.

The Italian couturier is designing all the outfits for the singer's current world tour, and was reportedly instructed by Aguilera not to include any real animal fur.

But Cavalli admitted to magazine Women's Wear Daily he sent her a stole made from real white fox fur, which she subsequently slipped on to perform gigs in Europe.

Aguilera was tipped off by Peta (People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals) vice president Dan Mathews, who sent her an email with a link to a video showing foxes getting killed for their fur.

The singer quickly replied, saying she was "very upset" insisting she "only ever wears fake fur". She has now replaced the stole for a fake fur version, in time for gigs in Switzerland, Austria and the Czech Republic this month.

Jolie, 31, says that she and Pitt, 43, have different parenting styles when it comes to Maddox, 5; Zahara, who turns 2 on Jan. 8; and Shiloh, 7 months: "I am the disciplinarian," she says. "Brad can be, but if Z doesn't get the bottle from me, she'll very quickly run to Daddy."

Asked which of the three kids rules the Jolie-Pitt roost, she says, "I bet if you asked Brad, he'd say Zahara. Mad is very smart, but he's got a certain sense of calm. As parents, what makes them most proud? "Somebody said to us recently that they were happy kids, and we talked about how much that meant to us to hear. And they're good kids. God knows how we managed to do that – but they're good kids."

Jolie admits that their humanitarian and film work creates a somewhat nomadic existence for their family. "It's hard, and maybe one day we'll have to stay in one place," she says. Janice Dickinson Caught In A Hit and Run

The so-called "world's first Supermodel" Janice Dickinson was involved in a hit and run car accident in L.A. late Tuesday night.

According to a statement issued by her rep, Dickinson, an assistant, her makeup artist and stylist were on the 405 Freeway when an unknown driver in a semi-truck sideswiped their vehicle into a median and sped away. Dickinson, who was wearing a seat belt at the time, was thrown head first into the windshield and suffered a concussion. The group, including the assistant who was driving the vehicle, was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where they were treated and released.

Her rep says that although Janice is shaken, she was given a clean bill of health by doctors and is expected to be "back in fine form" for the debut of the second season of "The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency" on January 10.

Rapper Busta Rhymes faces a new weapon charge in his assault case, following his alleged beating of a teenage fan on New York City's Randall's Island in August.

The hip-hop star, real name Trevor Smith, was arrested on 12 August for allegedly assaulting Roberto Lebron following the AmsterJam Music Festival.

At an October hearing, Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Shawndya Simpson dropped prosecutors' charge of possession of a weapon, but ordered the rapper to stand trial on assault and harassment charges.

However, the Manhattan District Attorney's Office filed a misdemeanour charge of criminal possession of a weapon on Monday, following police claims the star was carrying a 10-inch blade in his vehicle at the time of arrest.

Smith, 34, appeared in court yesterday, but remained silent.

Knievel Sues Kanye West Over Video Stunt

Legendary daredevil Evel Knievel is suing rapper Kanye West for portraying him without permission in his Touch The Sky video.


West plays Evel Kanyevel in the quirky promo but the real Knievel, 68, failed to see the funny side of the tribute.

Knievel, real name Robert Craig Knievel, has filed a lawsuit claiming infringement on his trademark name and likeness.

The stuntman, famous for his death-defying motorcycle jumps, also claims the "vulgar and offensive" images depicted in the video damage his reputation.

Angry Knievel fumes, "That video that Kanye West put out is the most worthless piece of crap I've ever seen in my life, and he uses my image to catapult himself on the public."

The lawsuit asks for damages and seeks to halt distribution of the video, in which West plays a Knievel lookalike attempting to jump the Grand Canyon in Arizona.

Justin Timberlake Meets Murderer

Justin Timberlake came face to face with a real-life murderer when he researched his new movie Alpha Dog, because director Nick Cassavetes insisted he met the man his character is based on.

Timberlake's character, Frankie Ballenbacher, is based on a jailed killer responsible for the 2000 kidnap and slaying of Nicholas Markowitz.

The pop star spent time with the murderer and discovered he's just a guy who made a very bad decision.

Sienna Miller's Sex Scene Worries

Sienna Miller is terrified of what her father will think of the explicit scenes in her new film 'Factory Girl'. The 24-year-old actress - who plays real life 60s 'it' girl Edie Sedgwick in the movie - performs some of the most raunchy scenes ever included in a mainstream film, and was determined to make them as real as possible.

But Sienna even covered her eyes when watching the sequences back because she's dreading the day her father sees them.

She revealed in an interview with Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "We wanted to make it realistic and I watched it thinking, 'Oh my God, my dad's going to see it!' And that was going through my head the whole time.

Dakota Fanning Swears Off Pork

Child star Dakota Fanning became so attached to her pig co-stars on the sets of her new movie, that she’s sworn off eating pork or any other products made from it.

The 12-year old star spent a lot of time around the four-legged creatures while filming classic children’s tale Charlotte’s Web.

"We had 50 pigs that we worked with of all different sizes. We had little babies and we would watch them grow up. They were so cute. Before I started playing Fern in the movie I went down to where they kept all of the animals - the pigs and the sheep and kind of just practiced holding them for the first time because I'd never really held a pig before,” Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

And, she found the piglets and pigs so “cute”, that now she just couldn’t imagine having one of them on her dinner plate.

"You know bacon - I can't even do it anymore. It's so sad! I don't think I'm ever going to eat ham or bacon again. It's just not appealing," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

As for whether or not the 50 pigs that were used for the movie will end up becoming someone’s meal, well Fanning revealed that thankfully they would be spared that awful fate.

"All the pigs that we worked with, they have good homes in Australia that won't ever eat them. That was very important," she added.

Winslet and Piper Join Attack On Size-Zero Models

The curvy stars of Titanic and Doctor Who are the latest celebrities to condemn the pressure on women to pursue size-zero figures. Kate Winslet described the trend as "unbelievably disturbing" yesterday while Billie Piper says in the January edition of Glamour magazine that it is "disgusting".

The debate over under-weight models has been raging since the death last month of Ana Carolina Reston, 21, a Brazilian model who suffered from anorexia.

In August, a Uruguayan model Luisel Ramos, 22, died of heart failure after not eating for several days.

Winslet, 31, said she refused to have any magazines showing skinny stars in her house because of the damaging effect it could have on her six-year-old daughter, Mia. "It's only a matter of time before she becomes aware of it and it frightens the life out of me," the former Oscar nominee said on the BBC's Sunday AM.

"Young girls are impressionable from 11 up to 19 or 20 even," she said. "They're trying to figure out who they are and they want to be loved, and what I resent is that there is an image of perfection that is getting thinner and thinner."

Winslet, whose new film The Holiday was released at the weekend, said she hoped that, with her Hollywood success, she could be a role model for girls: "I'm a normal person. I'm doing all right. I've got a lovely husband and children, and I didn't lose weight to find those things."

Piper, 24, who has suffered from anorexia, said she was worried that teenagers were looking up to "tiny" celebrities such as Victoria Beckham.

"The whole size-zero debate is disgusting," said the pop singer and former Doctor Who sidekick. "Some models you see are tiny because that's the way they were born, but then they'll get the attention and that will start feeding a fire.

"My sister, who is 13, looks amazing, but she's already worried about her figure. She loves Posh and I say, 'Come on Ellie, she's tiny. What's wrong with Shakira? She's sexy, curvy. But she has no interest."

Lately, you've been seeing pics of me and Britney partying (blah blah) and she knows that some of her fans are very upset about what they call her "behavior" and sadly they're blaming the issue on her being friends with me. Yeah, me and Brit have become really close in the past few weeks, and we've gone out alot in the past few nights, but I never influence anything she does, and neither does anyone else.

Brit is her own person and she deals with her own things everyday. For people to call out her parenting skills on behalf of her partying ethics is appalling. Britney loves her kids to death, and I know for a fact that it truly hurts her when she sees these cruel things being written about her.

She goes home every night to her babies and partying has not come in the way of her parenting.

Anyone who has called her out on this should really be ashamed. There are thousands of mothers out there who like to go out and have a good time. But, you do not see people out there calling them "bad parents" She's young, and if she wants to go out and have some fun, let her. Just because she does these things does not mean she doesn't care about her children. For the sake of Britney and her kids, be kind.

The Killers Cancel Dublin Concert

First of all, I love The Killers and sad that they were forced to cancel a gig in Dublin because frontman Brandon Flowers has bronchitis. I hope Brandon gets better soon because I'm sure the fans are disappointed and are still hoping for a kickass concert.

The concert, due to be held at the Point Theatre on Thursday night, was set to be their biggest and last show on their European tour.

In a statement the band said they are "devastated to disappoint" but claim it was "impossible to go ahead".

The show will not be rescheduled because of US tour commitments. Refunds will be available for ticket holders.

The band said they were really "excited" to perform in Dublin and have promised to find a way to "make it up" to the city.

Meanwhile the group have revealed plans to release their first ever Christmas song.
The track, A Great Big Sled, will be released on iTunes on 5 December, according to the band's website.

The Killers have decided to donate all the proceeds made from the single to the Red Campaign which helps fight against Aids in Africa.

The lyrics were written by Flowers during a sound check on their UK tour.
Speaking to the Independent newspaper, guitarist Dave Keuning said:

"We always use our sound checks to write new material, as they're the perfect time to spend a half hour noodling away".

The group were asked to do the song by Red Campaign's founder Bono, who is also U2's lead singer.

Eva Longoria Desperate For A Huge Wedding

Unlike the Tomkats “Desperate Housewives” star, Eva Longoria will get married soon and she’s not planning to be quiet about it. Eva Longoria said she wants a “huge and beautiful” ceremony she won’t keep silent about.

"We aren't going to be crazy hush-hush about this and be dramatic trying to protect it, because we are so excited," she said. "It's going to be huge and beautiful, and we just can't wait."

After their brief split in September this year, the couple formed by Eva and basketball player, Tony Parker, is actually stronger than ever. According to Eva’s publicist, Parker proposed and she accepted.

I'm sorry fellow blogger but I'm on the photogs side because I know they have the right. I have encountered some problems about some photos with an agency (no names) and I took down the pictures right away. The agency asked nicely and I know they have the lawful right to them.

Perez Hilton is to be hit by a multi-million dollar federal lawsuit from the top seven paparazzi agencies in the US.Splash News, INF, Ramey, Bauer Griffin, WENN, Most Wanted and Flynet have joined forces to stop Perezhilton.com from using copyrighted images.

"Perez claims he is making a fortune off exploiting pictures taken by photographers. He blatantly violates copyright and makes advertising revenue off other people's works," said Gary Morgan of Splash News."

It is time he is held accountable for his actions. We have amassed a ton of evidence from all of these agencies detailing his infringements.We have filed a letter to him giving him the chance to either pay up for all of his copyright violations or face the music.

He only has a few days to decide."The seven agencies have spent the last few weeks conferring over how to stop Hilton. In an unprecedented co-operation between paparazzi and showbusiness agencies, the heads of the agencies agreed to take action.

Nick Lachey Buys Baseball Team
